Prothom Alo faces Ethical hacking
The hacker posted a message online in the country's most popular Bengali daily Prothom Alo to find the error and fix it. The 'urgent warning message' posted on the website on Monday in the morning and said that the content management system (CMS) developed by Quintype Technologies India Limited, used by Prothom Alo online, has an important security flaw.
Addressed to Editor Matiur Rahman, using the tool, any person or organization with malicious intentions can change or modify any news or information previously published by Prothom Alo in the form of news and use the credibility of Prothom Alo to spread rumors among the common people.
It also provided the mail address of the hacker or hacker team to fix this error. However, no damage was done to the site. Many call it ethical hacking. Some say they are sales marketing hackers. According to them, doing anything without permission can never be white hat hacking.
No immediate comment was available from Prothom Alo. However, Prothom Alo authorities solved the problem around 11:30.
Regarding this, white hat hacker and cyber expert Tanveer Sourav said that most of the news websites in Bangladesh are hackable. Prothom Alo has had problems for many years. Some content has been changed before using this loop hole using some Israeli systems. As far as I understand this hacking work has been done from Bangladesh. Not single, an ethical hacker group has done this.
